Job summary

Farmfield Hospital, part of Elysium Healthcare, seeks a part-time pharmacy technician to manage medication ordering, storage, and governance in a specialist care setting. You will work with GP services, nursing teams, and the pharmacy provider to ensure timely on-site receipt of medications and adherence to best practice standards.

Responsibilities include participating in audits, maintaining GPhC standards, and supporting service development across departments while escalating quality concerns

Qualifications

• GPhC Registration.
• Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent (BTEC/NVQ Level 3).
• Minimum of two years of supervised, practical experience in a pharmacy setting.

This is a part-time position for 22.5 hours per week.Youwill have the opportunity to make a real difference by driving excellence in medication management and contributing to the wellbeing of people with mental health needs.

In this role, you will work alongside the GP service, nursingteamsand our pharmacy provider to ensure medications are ordered and received on sitein a timely manner. You will act on safety alerts,maintainsecure and storage ofmedications. Your responsibilities will include contributing to clinical governance,participatinginauditsand liaising with pharmacy and nursing staff to continuously improve service delivery.

You will provide visibility and support across departments, ensuring both clinical and non-clinical teams have access to pharmacyexpertisethroughout the working week. Escalating quality concerns,maintainingprofessional standards, and ensuring compliance with GPhC guidance will be central to your role and also support service development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the GP service, MultidisciplinaryTeamandidentifiedpharmacy provider to ensure medications are ordered and received on sitein a timely manner.
• Act on any safety alerts provided by the wider company to ensure service user safety isprioritised.
• Ensure safe storage of medications in collaboration with nursing teams.
• Contribute to clinical governance, ensuring any change to practice or local policy is directed through this forum.
• Maintain professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Ensure professional accreditations aremaintainedin line with GPhC guidance.
• Escalate any quality concerns or incidents in line with company policy.
• Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
• Liaise with the pharmacy provider and nursing staff to support service development.
• Participate in audits to drive continuous improvement and service development.
• Monitor controlled drugs and drugs liable to misuse and report inaccuracies to the accountable officer.
• Act as the local clozapine coordinator for maintaining registrations, ensuring monitoring requirements are completed and ensuring timely supply.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• GPhC Registration.

• Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians (or a BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences).
