Job summary

Disability North in South Shields is seeking a personal assistant to support a tetraplegic lady in her 60s. The role involves assisting with personal care, meals, household tasks and shopping, within a two-person team. Training will be provided and the shift pattern is 12 hours per week.

The successful candidate should be prepared to work mornings and evenings, and there is a genuine occupational requirement for a female to fill the post in line with applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience in social care is advantageous.
• Ability to provide personal care including bathing and dressing.
• Experience working with disabled individuals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing and dressing of the client.
• Provide light household duties.
• Prepare meals and assist with shopping.
• Support a tetraplegic lady with daily activities.
• Work as part of a two-person team.
