Job summary

Independent Lives in Burgess Hill is seeking a part-time Personal Assistant to support a 13-year-old with his day-to-day activities and independence goals. The role involves transport, social outings, planning journeys, and helping him stay safe in the community.

The successful candidate will be patient, reliable, and able to follow instructions while using their own initiative. A UK right-to-work and DBS check may be required. Non-smoker preferred.

Qualifications

• DBS check may be required for the role.
• Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours.

Responsibilities

• Transportation for the child.
• Going out and about and engaging in social activities.
• Plan and manage journeys, follow routes and prepare what is needed.
• Understand risks and stay safe in the community.
• Manage spending and conversations when shopping.
• Support access to activities, clubs and daily errands.
• Help adapt plans when routes or schedules change.
