Main responsibilities:

  • Completing payroll for our European division, primarily, but also involved with UK and Scotland payroll (approx. 2,500 employees)
  • Liaising with up to 10 bureaus across Europe on a monthly basis and coordinating these third parties along with the operations teams in each country within our month-end timeline
  • Entering and importing variable overtime and casual hours

  • Processing amendments to contracts
  • Calculating back pay
  • Experience in calculating sick pay manually, considering multiple policies
  • Maternity and paternity calculations
  • Calculating gross to net manually, not relying solely on the system

  • Assisting or preparing and sending monthly payroll reports for payroll sign-off
  • Preparing BACS authorization forms
  • Supporting the Payroll Team with additional payroll and pension administration requirements
  • Running payroll from start to finish, including month-end processes
  • Monitoring generic email accounts daily, logging, and resolving payroll queries within the specified timeframe
  • Supporting the Payroll Manager in process and system improvements
  • Training operations on payroll procedures and best practices

Key Personal Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Deep understanding of payroll legislation
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
  • Strong system skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Team player with the motivation to work independently

Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 2 years payroll experience handling similar volumes
  • Experience working with overseas payroll bureaus is desirable but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Additional benefits include wider wallet schemes (discounts at major retailers, restaurants, gyms, etc.), volunteers leave (up to one day per year), enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoptive leave, cycle-to-work scheme, a 'recommend a friend' bonus, and unrivalled individual training and development opportunities.
