Job summary

Telford & Wrekin Council’s Transport Team is looking for a part-time driver to operate a licensed vehicle providing specialist transport to clients, including children with SEND and adults with disabilities.

You will work closely with the passenger assistant and office team to ensure safety, comfort and dignity; good communication and organisational skills are essential; prior Private Hire experience is desirable, though full training will be given.

Qualifications

• Good communication skills (written and verbal).
• Organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• D1 entitlement not required but desirable; Private Hire experience is desirable.
• Full training and support provided.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate a licensed vehicle for specialist transport service.
• Support clients and families; work with passenger assistant and office team.
• Ensure safety, comfort and dignity of all passengers at all times.
