Job summary

24x7 Group is recruiting for a Passenger Assistant to transport SEN or vulnerable passengers to and from school, college or day care centres. The role requires patience, empathy and a commitment to safe, flexible operations.

Salary ranges from £560 to £860 per month, with 12.5 to 20 hours per week, term-time work, and monthly payments across all 12 months. Training provided and a contributory company pension are available.

Qualifications

• DBS check due to working with children, young persons and/or vulnerable adults.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Transport SEN or vulnerable passengers to and from school, college or day care centres.
• Be safe, flexible and support company operations.
• Build positive relationships with passengers, carers/parents and establishments.
• Assist drivers with company vehicles including small cars, 8-seater carriers and wheelchair-access vehicles.
• Keep passengers patient, occupied and comfortable on journeys.

Your Role

• Transport special needs (SEN) or vulnerable children and adults to and from school, college, or day care centres
• To work in an effective, safe, flexible manner and support the operation of the company.
• To quickly establish positive and professional relationships with passengers, their carers/parents, and the key people at the establishments they attend.
• To assist the driver in company supplied vehicles, which includes - cars, 8 seat people carriers and large wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• To be patient and empathic with the passengers and be able to keep them occupied and comfortable on journeys.

What You Need

• Pass an enhanced criminal record check as you will be working with children, young persons and/or vulnerable adults.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• First Aid Training - and willing to undergo advanced specialist medical training.

This role involves driving children (Child Workforce LW 9) and conveying adults who need to be transported due to age, illness, or disability (Adult Workforce LW 12). The position therefore meets the definition of regulated activity under both child and adult workforce legislative wording and is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list checks.
