Job summary

24x7 Group is seeking a Passenger Assistant to support transport of SEN children and vulnerable adults to and from school or day care. You will work closely with drivers and carers to ensure safe, comfortable journeys and maintain positive relationships with passengers.

Term-time work with 12.5–20 hours per week, route-dependent pay of £560–£860 per month, and a contributory pension are offered. Training is provided and you will join a friendly team.

Qualifications

• Pass an enhanced criminal record check.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• First Aid Training - and willing to undergo advanced specialist medical training.

Responsibilities

• Transport special needs (SEN) or vulnerable children and adults to and from school, college, or day care centres
• To work in an effective, safe, flexible manner and support the operation of the company.
• To quickly establish positive and professional relationships with passengers, their carers/parents, and the key people at the establishments they attend.
• To assist the driver in company supplied vehicles, which includes - cars, 8 seat people carriers and large wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• To be patient and empathic with the passengers and be able to keep them occupied and comfortable on journeys.

What You Need

This role involves driving children (Child Workforce LW 9) and conveying adults who need to be transported due to age, illness, or disability (Adult Workforce LW 12). The position therefore meets the definition of regulated activity under both child and adult workforce legislative wording and is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list checks.
