Job summary

24x7 Group is seeking a part-time Passenger Assistant in the Brentwood area. Role includes transporting SEN and vulnerable passengers to and from school or day care, with term-time hours and monthly pay between £560 and £860 depending on routes.

Qualifications

• Pass an enhanced criminal record check due to work with children, young persons, and vulnerable adults.
• Right to work in the UK.
• First Aid Training and willingness to undergo advanced medical training.
• Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Transport SEN or vulnerable passengers to and from school, college, or daycare.
• Support the operation of the company in a safe, effective, and flexible manner.
• Establish positive, professional relationships with passengers, carers/parents, and establishments.
• Assist the driver with company vehicles including cars, 8-seat carriers, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
• Be patient and empathetic, keeping passengers occupied and comfortable on journeys.

PASSENGER ASSISTANT ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Salary: £560 - £860 per month (route dependent)
Hours: 12.5 to 20 per week (varies by route)

Your Role

• Transport special needs (SEN) or vulnerable children and adults to and from school, college, or day care centres
• To work in an effective, safe, flexible manner and support the operation of the company.
• To quickly establish positive and professional relationships with passengers, their carers/parents, and the key people at the establishments they attend.
• To assist the driver in company supplied vehicles, which includes - cars, 8 seat people carriers and large wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• To be patient and empathic with the passengers and be able to keep them occupied and comfortable on journeys.

What You Need

• Pass an enhanced criminal record check as you will be working with children, young persons and/or vulnerable adults.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• First Aid Training - and willing to undergo advanced specialist medical training.

This role involves driving children (Child Workforce LW 9) and conveying adults who need to be transported due to age, illness, or disability (Adult Workforce LW 12). The position therefore meets the definition of regulated activity under both child and adult workforce legislative wording and is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list checks.
