Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust's Oncology Day Unit in North Tyneside is seeking a Band 5 staff nurse for a part-time post (24 hours per week). You will provide nurse-led, holistic care for cancer patients undergoing day treatment, with opportunities to lead and teach within a small team.

NMC registration is required, with training in chemotherapy and completion of SACT training within 12 months of starting.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in nursing.
• Qualification to supervise, teach and assess students within 18 months.
• Accredited SACT course and SACT competence passport to be completed within 12 months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver holistic, nurse-led care to cancer patients and carers.
• Support the team in safe delivery of day treatment care.
• Safely administer chemotherapy as trained.
• Model compassionate, inclusive leadership within the trust.
• Engage, enable and empower others; promote learning and quality improvement.
