Job summary

Northumbria NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Oncology Day Unit at North Tyneside General Hospital. This part-time role (24 hours/week) involves delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to cancer patients with day treatments.

Training in chemotherapy will be provided, and the successful applicant should be a registered nurse with good communication skills. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe practice, compassionate care and support for

Qualifications

NMC registered nurse (1st level)
Diploma/degree in nursing
Evidence of supervision/teaching/assessing qualification (essential within 18 months)
Willingness to undertake accredited SACT course and complete competence passport (within 12 months)

Responsibilities

Support the existing team in safe delivery of care to cancer patients undergoing day treatments.
Provide evidence-based, holistic nurse-led care to cancer patients and carers.
Administer chemotherapy with appropriate training and support; complete required qualifications as needed.
