Job summary

University of Exeter is seeking a Registered Nurse to join as a part-time Lecturer in Nursing on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity from January 2027 to 24 December 2027. Salary from £43,482 to £51,753 per annum, pro-rata for this part-time appointment, with flexible working arrangements welcome.

The role sits in the Academy of Nursing within the Department of Health and Care Professions, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

Qualifications

PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent experience in core knowledge to teach and support learning on relevant modules.
Experience using a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students.
Participate in and develop external networks for recruitment, placements, outreach, or consultancy opportunities.
Evidence of excellent teaching identified by peer review with impact beyond the candidate’s own teaching.
Be prepared to work towards Fellow of the HEA status and undertake related CPD.

Responsibilities

Teach predominantly in Nursing within the Department of Health and Care Professions.
Contribute to recruitment, module leadership, session design and assessment, and quality assurance.
Support student learning and provide guidance and pastoral support where needed.
