Job summary

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and resilient Registered Nurse (Band 5/6 level) to join the Cardiology patient flow team at LGI. The role focuses on safe patient placement across Cardiology, Cardiac surgery and RCCU, with responsibilities to support ward and discharge teams for timely patient flow.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (Level 1) registration and ongoing professional development.
• Continued professional development evidence required.
• Training as necessary will be provided.
• Band 5 or equivalent experience in a relevant specialty and patient flow experience.
• Experience in patient flow role or related area is desirable.
• Cardiology knowledge is desirable but not essential.
• Awareness of current issues in healthcare.
• Ability to think laterally and solve problems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organise and prioritise own and team workload.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for safe patient placement at the LGI site, including Cardiology, Cardiac surgery and RCCU patients.
• Support patient flow through L14 Cardiology day case and Cath labs.
• Assist ward teams, discharge team and CSU Leader to achieve timely patient flow from ED and movement of elective cardiac surgery cases.
• Ensure timely transfer of patients from Adult Critical Care CSU as required.
