Job summary

Meavy CofE Primary School in Yelverton is seeking a Mealtime Assistant to join the team. The role involves leading play, supervising pupils during lunchtime, and helping ensure their safety and well-being in a safe, structured mealtime environment.

Hours are 4.5 per week (11:50am–1:20pm, Wed–Fri, negotiable). Term-time only (38 weeks). DBS disclosure required; local safeguarding procedures apply.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children is not essential.
• Passion to help improve the life chances of children within a school environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up the dining hall.
• Set up and lead play activities in the playground.
• Supervision of all pupils during their meal time and organising the dinner queue.
• To co-ordinate play for pupils.
• To assist with the well-being of pupils during lunchtime.
• To support the supervision of children during lunch and play, using your initiative to ensure caring quality provision is continuously made.
