Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a qualified Maths Teacher for a part-time maternity cover in Redbridge, East London, starting December 2026. The role covers KS3–KS5 and involves delivering A-Level Mathematics with a 0.6 timetable (three days per week).

You will plan engaging lessons, assess and track progress, prepare students for GCSE and A-Level exams, and work within the Mathematics department to maintain high standards. QTS and proven A-Level experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics is essential.
• Experience teaching Maths across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Strong knowledge of GCSE and A-Level Mathematics specifications.
• A degree in Mathematics or closely related subject would be advantageous.
• Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• Conscientious and professional approach to teaching and assessment.
• Confident planning lessons for varied abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and within Mathematics department.
• Committed to high academic standards and student achievement.

Responsibilities

• Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
• Deliver A-Level Mathematics to KS5 students.
• Work a part-time 0.6 timetable (3 days per week).
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Maths lessons.
• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations and assessments.
• Monitor, assess and record student progress.
• Provide constructive feedback to improve mathematical understanding.
• Adapt teaching strategies for varying abilities.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
• Collaborate with the Mathematics department and wider staff.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and curriculum requirements.
• Contribute to student progress during maternity cover.
