Job summary

Stirling Ellis seeks a part-time Management Accountant for 15-20 hours per week, on-site at our Slough offices. The role involves month-end processes, VAT, payroll, and financial analysis to support the Finance Director and board reporting. ACCA or CIMA qualification and strong Excel/ERP experience are required. Prior SME manufacturing exposure is advantageous.

Qualifications

• ACCA or CIMA part-qualified or fully qualified.
• Part-time role available 20–25 hours per week on-site in Slough.
• Experience in a manufacturing SME is advantageous.
• Proficient with accounting software and ERP systems; strong Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end accounting and close processes.
• Act as first point of contact for AP/AR queries.
• Undertake VAT returns on a quarterly basis.
• Prepare month-end journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage fixed asset register and payroll updates.
• Conduct financial analysis including margin and cost analysis.
• Assist FD with budgeting, forecasting and board reporting.

Overview

Highly successful and expanding SME Manufacturing company require ACCA/CIMA part-time Management Accountant for a challenging position 15-20 hours a week, based on-site, at well situated offices in Slough, Berkshire.

About the Management Accountant

Reporting to the Finance Director the Management Accountant will assist with month-end management accounting and undertake a variety of month-end routines. Key duties include:

• Acting as a first point of contact for queries within Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Undertake responsibility for Quarterly VAT returns
• Month end journals including accruals & prepayments
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Manage fixed asset register
• Manage the company Payroll function and updating employee pay details.
• Performing financial analysis; including margin analysis and cost analysis
• Assisting the FD with monthly financial reporting for board review
• Processing all banking transactions and monthly bank reconciliations
• Monitoring and investigation of production variances
• Inventory accounting including accurate stock count and valuation
• Reporting and analysis of variances to the budget
• Assisting the FD with budgeting and forecasting

About you

• The Management Accountant will be ACCA or CIMA part or fully qualified and have a proven track record working within a busy SME environment
• You must be looking specifically for a part-time role and be available 20-25 hours a week on-site in Slough
• Previous experience within the manufacturing sector would be advantageous
• Applicants will have experience working with an accounting or ERP system and possess good Excel skills
