Job summary

Homes for Students is seeking a Maintenance Operative at The Terry Frost Building in Leeds. This role is a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, with immediate start, carrying out planned and reactive property maintenance to keep the building compliant and well-maintained.

You will report faults, coordinate with contractors and suppliers, and strive to deliver a high-quality customer experience while working with minimal supervision and in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in property maintenance or trades across disciplines.
• Knowledge of safe working methods including COSHH and manual handling.
• Awareness of health and safety requirements.
• Excellent customer care and progress reporting skills.
• Strong organisation and communication abilities.
• Ability to prioritise workload and work with minimal supervision.
• Proactive, initiative-driven, and able to resolve issues quickly.
• Team player with flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive property maintenance.
• Ensure statutory compliance is maintained.
• Report and resolve faults promptly and coordinate repairs.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors.
