Job summary

Morton Grove School District is seeking a Lunch and Recess Supervisor to assist in maintaining a safe, orderly atmosphere in the cafeteria, on the playground, and other designated areas during mealtime and playtime.

The role involves supervising students, helping with food purchases, ensuring seating, guiding groups back to class, and reporting issues to teachers and administrators. It is a part-time position approx 3 hours daily.

Qualifications

• Experience in school lunch or recess supervision is preferred.
• Ability to follow district policies and procedures during mealtime and playtime.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the cafeteria during meals.
• Ensure tables and surrounding areas are clean.
• Assist with orderly food purchases, disposal, and return of trays.
• Keep students seated in assigned areas during meals.
• Circulate among tables to provide assistance as needed.
• Organize groups for orderly dismissal from the cafeteria.
• Report infractions, safety concerns, or injuries to staff.
• Supervise playground during recess and classroom during indoor recess.
• Organize groups for orderly walk back to class.
