Job summary

Truro & Penwith College in Truro is seeking a Lecturer in Personal & Professional Development (PPD) to join our supportive team on a fixed-term basis until 31 August 2027. The role combines teaching, pastoral support as a Personal Tutor, and helping learners prepare for higher education, work-based learning and employment.

You will deliver engaging sessions to diverse learners, monitor progress, promote wellbeing and create an inclusive learning environment.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and student-centred Lecturer in Personal & Professional Development (PPD) to join our successful and supportive team at Truro College.

Our PPD provision plays a vital role in helping students achieve their ambitions through a personalised programme of professional skills development, personal growth, employability and work-based learning. The successful candidate will inspire students to recognise and fulfil their potential, supporting them to develop the knowledge, behaviours and attributes needed for future success.

You will be an engaging educator who can build positive relationships with learners across a range of abilities and backgrounds. The role includes responsibilities as a Personal Tutor, providing pastoral guidance, supporting student wellbeing, monitoring progress and helping learners to overcome barriers to achievement. You will create an inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, motivated and empowered to succeed.
