Job summary

Blackburn College is seeking a Lecturer in Hair and Media Make Up to join the Technical Centre, teaching Level 2 and Level 3 courses and supporting student achievement, retention, and pastoral care.

You must hold relevant industry qualifications, a Level 2 in English and Maths, a recognised teaching qualification, and an A1 Assessors Qualification or be willing to work towards. This temporary post runs 18.5 hours per week, pro rata, until 17 December 2027.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 in an industry-relevant qualification.
• Level 2 in English and Maths or equivalent required.
• recognised teaching qualification and A1 Assessors qualification desirable.
• Experience teaching Hair & Media Makeup in Further Education.

Responsibilities

• Teach Level 2 and Level 3 Hair and Media Makeup courses.
• Contribute to curriculum design and development.
• Provide pastoral support and monitor student achievement.
• Support retention and pass rates within programmes.
