Job summary

Tyneview Primary School invites a dedicated Support Assistant Level 2 to join the Playgroup, aiding the teacher with classroom duties and pupil support. This role is part-time, mornings only (3.5 hours), Monday to Friday, during term time with five training days. The post runs from January 2027 to 31 August 2027.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Learning Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to use language and communication skills children can understand.
• Ability to empathise with children's needs and establish positive relationships with pupils.
• Part-time role: 3.5 hours each morning, Mon–Fri, term time plus 5 training days, starting Jan 2027, fixed to 31 Aug 2027.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support under the direction of the teacher.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and physical needs.
• Assist with supervision of groups of pupils.
