Job summary

Tyneview Primary School invites a dedicated Support Assistant Level 2 to join the Playgroup, aiding the teacher with classroom duties and pupil support. This role is part-time, mornings only (3.5 hours), Monday to Friday, during term time with five training days. The post runs from January 2027 to 31 August 2027.

Qualifications

Job description

Tyneview Primary School is seeking to appoint a Support Assistant Level 2 in our Playgroup. We are looking for someone who is flexible and willing to provide classroom support under the direction of the teacher, answering to pupils' social, emotional and physical needs.

Requirements

• Level 2 Learning Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to use language and other communication skills that children can understand and relate to.
• Ability to empathise with the needs of children and in particular able to establish positive relationships with pupils.
• Ability to supervise groups of pupils. The post is part time 3.5 hours each morning, Mon - Fri, term time only plus 5 training days. Starting in January 2027, and is fixed term to 31st August 2027.
