Job summary

St Luke’s School in Runwell seeks a part-time teaching/child support assistant to support lessons and interventions for pupils with SEN in KS2. The role includes assisting groups and individuals, including those with autism, and coordinating with teachers and staff.

Qualifications

• Good numeracy and literacy skills; GCSE or equivalent in English and maths highly desirable.
• Organised with good communication skills; able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
• Understanding of the professional nature of the role.

Responsibilities

• Support in lessons and run interventions for Special Educational Needs pupils in Key Stage 2.
• Assist in supporting group and individual pupils, including those with autism and complex cognition and learning needs.
• Work as part of a team, liaising with teachers and other staff.
• Encourage and motivate pupils using interpersonal skills.
