Job summary

The Priory Care Home in Chippenham is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly catering team on a part-time basis. You will assist with breakfast, lunch and dinner for residents, working alongside our Head Chef in a well-equipped, 5-star-rated kitchen and will receive induction training and support to obtain a Food Hygiene certificate.

Previous kitchen experience is welcomed but not essential; enthusiasm for food and hospitality is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or catering experience preferred but not essential.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Enthusiasm for food and hospitality.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen.
• Enhanced DBS check required (cost covered by The Priory).

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with food preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping and portioning
• Serve meals to residents in dining areas, ensuring presentation and portion sizes meet standards
• Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen equipment, surfaces and utensils
• Follow all food safety regulations and infection control procedures at all times
• Assist with stock rotation, storage and checking of delivery goods
• Cater for individual dietary requirements and preferences of residents
• Support with washing up and clearing down after meal services
