Job summary

West Suffolk College (including Built Environment Campus) in Bury St Edmunds is seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join the Inclusive Learning Team. This fixed-term, part-time role supports students with SEND on a one-to-one or small-group basis in the classroom.

A recognised Learning Support qualification is desirable, and a good standard of English and Maths is essential. You will help learners achieve personal targets while building positive relationships with young people

Job description

• Part time hours available*,36/38 weeks per year- Fixed Term Contract until 31/07/2026
• Salary: £24,570- £25,401 per annum (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
• Actual Salary:Dependent on contracted hours

We are seeking enthusiastic, approachable, and adaptable individuals to join our evolving Inclusive Learning Team. In this highly rewarding role, you will support young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) on a one-to-one or small group basis within the classroom setting.

Your role will involve encouraging independent learning and helping students achieve their personal learning targets across a wide range of educational programmes. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience working with children or young people with SEND, as this would be a significant advantage.

A recognised Learning Support related qualification is desirable, and a good standard of English and Maths is essential. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a genuine enthusiasm for helping others, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people and/or adults who may have learning disabilities, mental health needs, social emotional difficulties, or require physical care.
