Job summary

Tamfol is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Support Worker to assist a client with brain injury living at home. The role involves one‑to‑one support, driving the client’s car for local and occasional longer journeys, and helping with light domestic tasks such as cleaning, cooking and personal care prompts.

Sleep‑in duties and flexible hours are included in a pattern across weekdays, weekends, and occasional holidays.

Qualifications

• Ability to read information in reports and present it clearly to the team.
• Ability to work on your own or as part of a team.
• Must have a full UK driving licence and be able to drive manual/automatic vehicles.
• Must be prepared to have business class insurance on own vehicle.
• Must be prepared to provide personal care if required.
• Knowledge or understanding of brain injury is desirable.
• Experience in community settings or people’s homes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with the client in his home and in the community.
• Enable participation in recreational activities, e.g. visiting farms and looking after fish.
• Assist with household tasks: ironing, washing, cleaning, hoovering.
• Provide light domestic duties like vacuuming and ironing.
• Act as driver for local and occasional longer journeys.
• Provide daytime, evening and overnight support within a 24‑hour package.
• Offer cover for staff holidays and sickness when needed.
• Follow the support plan and work with the client’s family and professionals.
• Undertake training and supervision as directed by the Case Manager.
• Maintain client confidentiality in all matters.
