Job summary

Midland Heart is seeking a part-time Legal Assistant to join its in-house Housing Legal team, assisting housing solicitors and the Head of Housing Litigation. The role focuses on housing management and tenancy enforcement matters, with the opportunity to work on civil litigation actions.

You will handle a varied caseload, prepare pleadings and witness statements, and provide legal advice to internal stakeholders. Occasional court attendance and advocacy development are available.

Qualifications

• 2:1 Law Degree or higher, or LPC/SQE qualification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills to manage a varied caseload with deadlines.
• Experience in civil litigation, drafting and trial preparation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Housing Solicitors with a varied caseload.
• Prepare claim forms, pleadings and witness statements.
• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on housing matters.
• Attend court to represent Midland Heart or instruct counsel.
