Job summary

Essential Employment is seeking a Housing Litigation Solicitor in Stockport to join a busy litigation team. This temporary role focuses on housing disrepair, housing management, anti-social behaviour, allocations and homelessness, with supportive development in areas as needed.

You will provide specialist legal advice, prepare and negotiate applications, pleadings, notices and instructions to counsel, and undertake advocacy in courts and tribunals.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with housing litigation experience.
• Experience handling housing disrepair and homelessness matters.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload and work in a team.
• Strong advocacy and court handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist legal support across housing matters and manage a varied caseload.
• Advocate in courts and tribunals and prepare pleadings, notices and instructions to counsel.
• Deliver clear, confident legal advice and negotiate applications.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of social housing law and work collaboratively to provide an equitable service.
