Job summary

Avon Search & Selection is seeking a part-time Housekeeper for a Luxury Retirement Home in Kilgetty, Pembrokeshire. The role focuses on maintaining high cleanliness standards, supporting residents and staff, and contributing to a warm, homely environment.

The role requires commitment to safe cleaning practices, infection control, and working as part of a close-knit team. Local travel is preferred, with DBS and full training provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning is desirable (training can be provided).
• A genuine interest in working with older people.
• Good communication skills.
• High standards of cleanliness and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well within a team.
• Reliable, organised and proactive approach.
• Caring, friendly and respectful attitude.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily cleaning tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the residential home.
• Clean residents' rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, corridors and other areas as required.
• Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules.
• Ensure all cleaning is carried out safely and in accordance with relevant hygiene procedures.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming environment for residents.
• Replenish cleaning and household supplies as required.
• Report any maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns promptly.
• Follow infection control, COSHH and health and safety procedures.
• Work closely with care staff and the wider team to ensure residents' needs are met.
• Respect residents' privacy, dignity and personal belongings at all times.
