Job summary

Retirement Villages Group is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper for Gradwell Retirement Village in South Chailey, Lewes. 18 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday 8:30am–2:30pm, to maintain residents’ living spaces and village facilities with a focus on cleanliness and comfort.

You will support laundry, waste disposal, and daily upkeep, while remaining flexible to assist across multiple villages when needed. A compassionate, detail-oriented attitude and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
• Compassionate and respectful attitude toward residents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize residents' apartments, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas such as dining rooms and lounges.
• Assist with laundry services, including washing, drying and folding linens.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling.
• Follow cleaning schedules and adhere to high cleanliness standards.
• Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and report restocking needs.
• Respond to special requests from residents or their families as needed.
• Foster a friendly and supportive atmosphere within the village.

Retirement Villages Group is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housekeeper to join our team at Gradwell Retirement Village based in South Chailey, Lewes to work Wednesday - Friday 8:30am to 2:30pm (18 hours per week)

Your responsibilities will include maintaining the cleanliness and order of residents' living spaces, common areas, and other facilities in accordance with our high cleanliness standards. Your flexibility and willingness to adapt to different working environments will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize residents' apartments, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and living areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness of common areas, including dining rooms, lounges, and recreational spaces.
• Assist with laundry services, including washing, drying, and folding residents' clothing and linens.
• Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling.
• Follow cleaning schedules and adhere to high cleanliness standards.
• Keep inventory of cleaning supplies and report when restocking is needed.
• Respond to special requests from residents or their families as needed.
• Foster a friendly and supportive atmosphere within the retirement village.
