Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Colchester is seeking a Part-time Housekeeper to provide cleaning and housekeeping duties across wards and communal areas. The role covers 12 hours per week on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 12pm, with flexible hours. A DBS check is required for successful candidates.

The position offers a friendly team environment within a hospital setting, encouraging safe working practices, COSHH compliance, and a positive, helpful attitude toward service users and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning, housekeeping or domestic work is desirable.
• Knowledge of COSHH regulations desirable.
• Friendly, conscientious with a positive attitude.
• Good communicator.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the site maintains a high level of cleanliness.
• Carry out daily & weekly cleaning regimes.
• Maintain & replenish stock and ensure that equipment is clean & well maintained.
• Employ safe working practices & adhere to health & safety procedures.
• Comply with COSHH regulations.

Cygnet Hospital Colchester is a 59 bed service providing a range of intensive support and rehabilitation services for men with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders or mental health needs. We are recruiting for a Part-time Housekeeper to provide general cleaning and housekeeping duties on the Wards and communal Areas at the Hospital to help maintain a safe & healthy environment for our service users. You will work 12hrs a week covering Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8am-12pm (hours can flexible). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing friendly, effective cleaning service with a positive attitude.

You’re day-to-day…

• Ensure the site maintains a high level of cleanliness
• Carry out daily & weekly cleaning regimes
• Maintain & replenish stock and ensure that equipment is clean & well maintained
• Employ safe working practices & adhere to health & safety procedures
• Comply with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations
