Thomas Franks Ltd is hiring a Part-time Hospitality Assistant in Guildford to support school catering services for students aged 4–18. The role involves serving, stocking, cleaning, and maintaining food hygiene standards within a fast-paced environment.

You will work 18+ hours per week, with occasional evenings or weekends for events, and benefit from a comprehensive range of employee perks and training opportunities offered by the company.

Qualifications

• Impeccable personal presentation and hygiene, and able to work in a school catering environment.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take responsibility in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience in hospitality within B&I or private education is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist with growing hospitality within the school; support serving customers and maintaining cleanliness.
• Prepare service areas for daily meal service and special functions.
• Serve, clear, and store food and beverages; ensure hygiene and safety standards are followed.
• Restock stocks and consumables; manage waste in designated areas.
• Occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for functions and events.

Contract: Part Time , Permanent
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 18+ per week

A private day school for girls in Guildford for students aged between ages 4 to 18 years. Catering for about 1200 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of AM snack, Lunch PM snack and match teas with some fabulous hospitality thrown in. Additionally this location benefits from great transport links.

We have a fantastic opportunity for you as Part time Hospitality Assistantto join one of our fantastic locations in Guildford.

You will ideally have previous experience of working within a fast-paced catering environment.

You will enjoy what you do, working with a great team, for a company fanatical about food serving wonderful customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Primarily this position is to assist with the growing hospitality within the school, when this is quiet then:
• To support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare all service areas for the days business relating to that meal service.
• Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away any food, beverage or equipment required for special functions.
• Prepare basic food for sale/service, following good hygiene and safety practices and to the standard specified.
• Restock and replenish stocks and consumables as required during service periods, pre-empt customer needs and achieve optimum customer service delivery.
• Empty, remove and store rubbish / recycle rubbish in the correct place.
• Be prepared to occasionally work evening and/or weekend for functions and school events.
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.

You will have the following skills:

• Team working abilities, Listening skills, the ability to work on own initiative, impeccable personal presentation, hygiene and behaviour to others, Food hygiene certificate preferred.
• The ability to be adaptable and be flexible as necessary. Reliable, Honest and able to demonstrate an open attentive approach to customer service.
• Willingness to learn new skills and take some responsibility.
• Ability to manage some moderately heavy lifting, carrying, and pushing.
• Experience in providing hospitality in B&I or Private Education would be beneficial.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred.

This role is 18 hours per week but with the potential for extensive overtime opportunities.
