Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to Primary and Secondary learners across Chester.

The role covers delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths, planning lessons, adapting for SEN, monitoring progress and giving regular feedback. Part-time hours during weekdays with pay of £25–£30 per hour, paid weekly. All applicants must have DBS or be willing to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year UK teaching or tutoring experience.
• Experience with Primary and Secondary-aged learners.
• SEN experience.
• Strong knowledge of Functional Skills English and/or Maths.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging 1:1 Functional Skills tuition in English and/or Maths.
• Plan lessons according to each child's individual learning needs and abilities.
• Adapt lessons to support different learning styles, including pupils with SEN.
• Help learners build confidence and improve their academic progress.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
