Job summary

Family care group in Chorley, Lancashire, is seeking a dedicated Fostering Support Worker to assist foster carers and the young people in their care. You will provide practical and emotional support to help foster placements thrive and promote stable, positive outcomes.

This part-time role requires NVQ Level 3, a full UK driving licence, and Enhanced DBS clearance. You will work flexibly from our Chorley office, contributing to care planning, training coordination, and reviews.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people, including those with SEMH difficulties.
• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce, Health and Social Care, or demonstrable equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular one-on-one support to foster carers and children.
• Assist with the placement process and ongoing placement stability.
• Support carers in managing challenging behaviours and promoting positive outcomes.
• Help coordinate training, support groups, and respite care where needed.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning and reviews.
