Job summary

Elysium Healthcare is seeking an experienced psychologist for The Spinney in Atherton, Manchester. The role involves delivering evidence-based assessments and interventions for men with mental health difficulties, within a forensic setting, reporting to the Lead Psychologist.

You will deliver risk assessments, MDT work and staff reflective practice in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. Candidates should hold a postgraduate psychology qualification with HCPC registration and may be

Qualifications

• Postgraduate/Doctorate level qualification to work as Clinical, Forensic or Counselling psychologist.
• Current HCPC registration as Practitioner Psychologist.
• Open to newly qualified or about-to-qualify HCPC applicants with stated timing.
• Experience in specialist assessment, formulation and treatment of mental health difficulties.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management.
• Post-qualification training in therapeutic models for forensic settings.
• Experience supervising psychology and other healthcare colleagues.
• Experience facilitating reflective practice and cross-cultural psychology work.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist psychological assessments, formulations and interventions for people with complex needs.
• Contribute to risk management, care planning and MDT decision-making.
• Communicate complex information to colleagues, service users and carers to support wellbeing.
• Support staff development through training, consultation and reflective practice sessions.
• Manage a complex caseload and facilitate group psychological interventions.
• Monitor progress through regular reviews of psychological treatment.
• Provide clinical supervision to assistant psychologists and trainees.
• Ensure practice aligns with HCPC Code of Conduct and company policies.
