Elysium Healthcare is seeking a Forensic Psychologist to join The Limes, a level 2 inpatient rehabilitation service for men with identified mental health needs. The role involves delivering evidence-based psychological interventions, managing a caseload, and contributing to care pathway development within a multidisciplinary team.

The position is a fixed-term 12-month contract (Sabbatical cover), part-time 22.5 hours per week, based at The Limes, Mansfield.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BPS recognised psychology degree and HCPC registration.
• Postgraduate qualifications and post-doctoral level knowledge in research methods are desirable.
• Experience applying psychological knowledge to forensic or psychiatric settings is preferred.
• Engagement with ABI networks and supervisory qualification are advantageous.

You will be working at The Limes, a service that provide a Level 2 mental health inpatient rehabilitation service that provides care and treatment for men who have an identified mental health rehabilitation need. This includes people who may also have a learning disability, who have a diagnosis of autism or Personality Disorder. Reporting to the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of delivering strategic and clinical strategies to grow and further develop the care pathway through specialist psychological advice and consultations

You will have experience and knowledge in carrying a designated caseload, including assessing service users with complex needs, and designing and delivering specialist psychological treatment within neurological care services.

As a Forensic Psychologist You Will Be

• Deliver focused psychological interventions.
• Identify and develop new services for other neurological conditions.
• Ensure all non-medical therapeutic approaches are underpinned by a conceptual model, have an empirical evidence base, and that their effectiveness is measured.
• Ensure that all members of the transdisciplinary team have access to and understanding of the concepts and principles underpinning framework and the specialised skills

To Be Successful In This Role, You'll Need

• BPS recognised psychology degrees (essential)
• HCPC Registration (essential).
• Appropriate post-graduate qualifications (desirable)
• To be an approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division (desirable).
• Experience of applying psychological knowledge to a forensic or psychiatric setting (desirable).
• Evidence of engagement in ABI networks.
• Post-doctoral level knowledge and application of research methodology, research design and complex, multivariate data analysis.

Where You Will Be Working

Location: The Limes, Main Street, Langwith, Mansfield NG20 9HD

It is a specialist Rehabilitation service for men with a Mental Illness and/or Personality Disorder and a history of trauma and/or attachment disorders. The service offers a blended model of rehabilitation that combines a traditional rehabilitation environment with single and dual occupancy apartments, to provide a seamless care pathway for men. You will be working in an environment where there is a strong emphasis on positive risk taking which enables self-reliance and builds trust and self-esteem.

The service focuses on psychological input and provides specialist, evidence based interventions including Trauma focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). There is significant staff expertise in early life trauma and attachment disorder, helping the service user make sense of a trauma history.
