Job summary

Ipswich Borough Council is seeking Swimming Instructors to deliver high‑quality swimming lessons for adults and children, aligned with Swim England guidance. You will assess learners, plan sessions, and ensure water safety while supporting the council's active Ipswich programmes.

Applicants should hold Level 2 Swimming Instructor or the National Swimming Instructor qualification (or be on a course with documents to follow). DBS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 Swimming Instructor qualification or the National Swimming Instructor qualification, or be in progression with documents to be provided.

Responsibilities

• Teach adults and children to swim following Swim England and sport guidance.
• Plan and deliver engaging, safe swimming lessons with emphasis on water safety.
• Work independently and as part of a team, with flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
