Job summary

GLL is seeking a part-time Swimming Teacher for St Ives Leisure Centre to deliver safe, engaging swimming lessons for all ages. You’ll work group and one-to-one sessions, applying progression and teaching points from our product manuals. A strong focus on safeguarding and policy compliance is required.

You should hold a STA Award or Swim England Level 2, ideally with the National Rescue Award. Knowledge of health and safety legislation and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• STA Award or Swim England Level 2 qualification.
• Ideally National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and other relevant legislation.
• Understanding of Child Protection Policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a welcoming and professional poolside service and positive image of the Centre.
• Ensure safety and control of pupils during lessons and comply with centre policies.
• Encourage enrolments on further courses and manage enrolments as required.
• Follow the safeguarding policy and behaviour guidelines within the Swim School product.
• Record and complete relevant awards to expected standards.
• Teach to the standard set in the product manual for consistency across centres.
