Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Part-time Accountant to lead day‑to‑day financial control across group entities in Ulverston. You will manage bank and ledger activities, ensure accurate month‑end close, and contribute to consolidated reporting.

You will support VAT, payroll, and statutory reporting while strengthening internal controls and cooperating with auditors. This role offers flexible, part‑time hours in a pivotal finance function.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with meaningful post‑qualification experience in financial control and reporting.
• Audit experience advantageous, including statutory audits.
• Strong balance sheet control and multi‑entity month‑end close experience.
• UK GAAP (FRS 102) knowledge and relevant disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Own day‑to‑day financial control across group entities, including bank, ledger, reconciliations, intercompany, accruals and prepayments.
• Lead robust monthly close and produce management accounts with commentary at multiple levels.
• Prepare consolidated cash flow forecasts and manage cash across entities.
• Support year‑end consolidation, accounts preparation and disclosures.
• Assist with statutory audits and liaise with auditors during fieldwork.
