The Part-Time Finance People are seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to partner with owner-managers in the Luton area. This client-facing, self-employed role requires a minimum of two onsite days per week and offers genuine commercial impact beyond traditional bookkeeping.

You will deliver robust financial management, drive profitability, and support cash flow with senior leaders. The position suits someone who thrives in a pragmatic, hands-on environment and enjoys influencing business

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification, or qualified by experience.
• Minimum 3 years' UK-based experience as Financial Controller.
• Experience supporting SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
• Strong management accounting and board reporting experience.
• Extensive budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management.
• Excellent commercial awareness and business partnering.
• Experience improving financial controls, processes, and reporting.
• Able to attend client sites in the Luton area at least two days per week.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly management accounts and board packs.
• Deliver KPI reporting and performance analysis.
• Analyse revenue, margins, profitability, stock, and costs.
• Provide commercial recommendations to improve profitability.
• Translate financial data into practical actions for leadership.
• Lead budgeting and annual planning processes.
• Produce rolling forecasts and scenario planning models.
• Develop cash flow forecasts and manage cash flow.
• Support strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Build confidence in financial reporting across the business.
• Strengthen financial controls and governance.
• Drive process improvements in finance systems.
