Part Time Financial Controller (22.5 hours)

Solihull

£42,600 p/a pro rata

Bell Cornwall Recruitment is pleased to be working with a rapidly growing SME in the travel industry. Due to their expansion, they are seeking a Part Time Financial Controller (22.5 hours - 3 days a week). The company is at an exciting stage where they want to bring their finance function in-house, so the successful candidate must be willing to help implement and embed processes and also handle transactional accountancy tasks. The role is based on Birmingham Business Park (Solihull).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Lead the budgeting process, provide variance analysis, and recommend opportunities for cost optimization and revenue growth.
• Monitor cash flow to maintain liquidity and develop short- and long-term cash flow forecasts.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, manage annual audits, and stay updated with evolving financial regulations and best practices.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Create and optimize financial systems and reporting tools for greater efficiency and accuracy.

The Ideal Candidate:

• CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualification preferred.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role with strong financial management skills.
• Proficient in financial software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• A positive, proactive attitude with enthusiasm to grow with the company.
