Job summary

CapEQ™ | B Corp, an award-winning UK M&A advisory boutique and the first B Corp-certified M&A firm in Europe, is seeking a part-time Finance Officer in the Greater Reading Area. The role supports financial operations, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting in a hybrid setup with some home working.

You will maintain records, review statements, and assist with monthly and annual reporting while ensuring internal controls and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong finance and analytical skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and supporting decision-making.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing financial statements and financial reporting, including management and statutory reports.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Relevant experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within professional services, advisory, or SMEs.
• Comfort with hybrid working arrangements and ability to manage time and priorities independently.
• Advanced skills in spreadsheets and accounting software; familiarity with UK accounting standards and tax principles is an advantage.
• Professional qualification or part-qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent practical experience is beneficial.
• Commitment to ethical business practices and alignment with B Corp values around people, purpose, and impact.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and assist with monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow monitoring.
• Reconcile accounts and provide analytical insights to support leadership decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and relevant regulations and contribute to process improvements.
