Job summary

Confidential in London is seeking a Finance Manager on a part-time 3‑day week to own the finance function ahead of growth. The hands‑on role bridges day‑to‑day transactional accounting with strategic financial management, reporting to the MD and supported by a Fractional CFO.

You will redesign management accounts, implement an integrated system with Xero, manage payroll, VAT, cash flow and liaise with external accountants.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified with CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
• Strong Xero experience and interest in systems and automation.
• Retail/SME experience and a hands-on, scrappy approach.
• Confident communicator across the business.
• Growth-minded with potential to expand the team.

Responsibilities

• Redesign and own monthly management accounts with commentary.
• Accounts payable/receivable, weekly payments, bank reconciliations.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT returns and external reporting.
• Oversee weekly cash flow and variance to forecast.
• Provide weekly trade KPIs to the business.
• Design end-to-end finance processes around new systems (Xero) and automation.
• Process monthly payroll.
• Liaise with external accountants on year-end statutory accounts.
• Support CFO with ad hoc projects and analysis.
