The role covers ownership of the finance function, monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasting, budgeting, VAT, and cross-functional collaboration with owners and an overseas back-office team. Experience in commodity or international trading stocks is a plus.

Finance Manager

£60,000 FTE Slough Office Based Part-time - 25 hours a week

Are you a qualified accountant looking for a role where you can actually own the numbers?

The business

This company is a successful and growing international trading business, working with customers and suppliers across a number of global markets.

As the company continues to expand, they are now looking for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of the finance function and play an important role in supporting the next stage of growth.

The role

You'll be responsible for:

• Producing monthly Management Accounts
• Cash flow forecasting and working capital management
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Margin and profitability analysis
• Month-end and balance sheet reconciliations
• VAT preparation and submissions
• AP, AR and credit control
• Bank reconciliations and payment runs
• Accruals, prepayments and payroll journals
• Foreign currency transactions
• Stock movements and controls
• Maintaining accurate accounts on Xero
• Working with the external accountants
• Working alongside the overseas back-office team
• Improving financial controls and processes
• Providing commercial financial analysis to the owners

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is qualified and commercially minded, rather than someone who simply wants to process accounts.

You’ll ideally be:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Experienced in producing Management Accounts
• Strong on cash flow forecasting and working capital
• Comfortable with VAT and month-end
• Experienced with foreign currency
• Confident analysing margins and profitability
• Strong with Excel and Xero
• Commercially aware and analytically minded
• Comfortable working directly with business owners
• Hands-on, organised and able to take ownership

Experience within commodity trading, international trading, import/export, manufacturing or another stock-based business would be particularly useful.
