Job summary

Teach Now is seeking an inspirational Head of Pre-Prep for a three-day-a-week leadership role in Hertfordshire. The post is part-time until Christmas with potential extension, offering stability during staff absence and the chance to shape EYFS provision.

You will lead the Pre-Prep, develop staff, monitor pupil progress and safeguarding, and work with SLT to sustain high standards. Applicants should have QTS and significant Early Years leadership experience, with a warm, child-centred approach.

Qualifications

• Significant Early Years or Pre‑Prep experience.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Strong understanding of the EYFS.
• Experience leading and supporting staff.
• High expectations for teaching, pupil care and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead the smooth day‑to‑day running of the Pre‑Prep.
• Motivate, support and develop teaching and support staff.
• Maintain high standards across the EYFS and Pre‑Prep curriculum.
• Monitor teaching, pupil progress and wellbeing.
• Promote positive behaviour and pastoral care.
• Build relationships with children, staff and parents.
• Maintain safeguarding and child‑protection standards.
• Provide continuity for pupils, families and colleagues.
• Contribute to wider school leadership and improvement.
