Job summary

Stoke-on-Trent City Council is seeking a compassionate Community Care Assistant to support adults to live independently across the city. The role involves personal care, medication administration, meal preparation and assisting with daily activities in a person-centred way, while protecting privacy, dignity and choice.

This part-time post is 21 hours a week, mainly evenings 4pm–10pm, with weekends on a rota and travel across north and south Stoke.

Qualifications

• Willingness to complete the Care Certificate and equivalent Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Willingness to achieve equivalent Level 3 in Health and Social Care

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred personal care, including bathing and toileting
• Administer medication, including controlled drugs
• Contribute to care plans and assessments
• Support meal preparation with attention to nutrition
• Escort to appointments and deliver exercise programmes
• Apply infection control and food hygiene measures
• Escalate safeguarding concerns and report as policy
• Keep accurate electronic records and reports on progress
