Job summary

Galliford Try in Manchester is seeking an Estimator to join the team and oversee cost planning, first principles estimating and quantity take-offs from drawings for projects across the Northwest from the Manchester office. You will prepare bills of quantities, pricing documents and issue subcontract and material enquiries, while reviewing specifications and ensuring compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost planning and estimating in construction projects.
• Ability to measure quantities from drawings (electronic/paper).
• Strong understanding of tenders, pricing, and subcontracting processes.

Responsibilities

• Cost planning and estimating for multiple projects.
• Measure and take off quantities from drawings.
• Prepare bills of quantities and pricing documents.
• Prepare and issue sub-contract and material enquiries.
• Analyse specifications and review for accuracy.
• Check enquiry returns for compliance.
• Assemble pricing elements to form tender sums.
• Prepare tenders for adjudication and settlements.
• Conduct commercial review of opportunities and tender documents.
• Assess risks and opportunities and support supplier relations.
