Job summary

Pownall Hall School is seeking a passionate Early Years Practitioner for our Woodland Nursery in Wilmslow. You will care for children aged 2–3, acting as a key person and helping them feel safe, secure and ready to explore the world around them.

Working 4 hours per day on a part-time contract, you will collaborate with staff and visiting specialists to provide a rich, nurturing nursery experience, with opportunities to grow within the school.

Qualifications

• Holds a Level 2 or above Early Years qualification.
• Experience caring for children aged 2–3 and a genuine love of babies and toddlers.
• Warm, patient and positive with excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a key person for a small group of children, building strong bonds with them and their families.
• Creating a calm, nurturing space indoors, plus outdoor spaces including woodland and gardens.
• Collaborating with colleagues and visiting specialists to provide a rich nursery experience.
• Supporting each child’s personal, social and emotional development and laying early foundations for learning.

At Pownall Hall, childhood is celebrated from the very beginning. Our Woodland Nursery, inspired by hygge and set within eight acres of leafy Wilmslow countryside, offers babies and toddlers a warm, nature-rich environment where curiosity, comfort and care go hand in hand.

We are looking for a passionate Early Years Practitioner to join our team, working with children aged 2–3 years, on a part-time contract 4 hours per day. This is a wonderful opportunity to nurture the youngest members of our school community, helping them to feel safe, secure and ready to explore the world around them.

The role includes:

• Acting as a key person for a small group of children, building strong bonds with them and their families


• Creating a calm, nurturing space indoors, while making full use of your own dedicated outdoor space, plus further facilities including our woodland, gardens and outdoor learning areas


• Working with colleagues and visiting specialists (including music, yoga, French and Forest School) to provide a rich and varied nursery experience


• Supporting each child’s personal, social and emotional development, while laying the earliest foundations for learning

We are looking for someone who:

• Holds a Level 2 or above Early Years qualification


• Has experience of caring for children aged 2–3 and a genuine love of working with babies and toddlers


• Is warm, patient and positive, with excellent teamwork and communication skills


• Brings energy, flexibility and joy to their role every day
