Job summary

Cygnet Long Eaton Day Services is seeking a Part Time Driver to operate a 7-seater minibus, delivering reliable transport for service users. The role requires a valid UK D1 licence with up to 3 points, 2+ years driving experience, and the ability to work unsupervised on a split 3+3 hour shift.

The position involves vehicle checks, refuelling, cleanliness, and reporting faults. The successful candidate will join a supportive team with coaching, cycle-to-work scheme, and DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK driving D1 Licence with no more than 3 points.
• Knowledge of local area to navigate efficiently.
• Ability to use Sat Nav or maps to plan routes and schedules.
• Willing to work unsupervised and manage time.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive the 7-seater mini bus as part‑time driver (split shift: 3 hours morning, 3 hours afternoon).
• Refuel and check the company vehicle before departure and after return; keep it clean and report faults or damage.
• Ensure reliable transport for service users and adhere to schedules and local area knowledge.

Cygnet Long Eaton Day Services

specialises in supporting individuals with a primary diagnosis of a learning disability, in addition to those with complex health needs, physical disabilities and those with autism. We have a long history of enhancing the quality of life of the individuals who attend the service.

We are currently looking for a Part Time Driver, who is able to drive our 7 seater mini bus, working on a 20 hour part time basis. This is a split shift contract, 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the afternoon.

For insurance purposes, applicants must be 21 years of age or over and have held a full UK driving licence for at least 2 years. You also need to have a D1 licence to be able to drive the minibus.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the company vehicle used is refuelled and to check the vehicle before going out and after return, keeping it clean inside and out and reporting any faults/damage.

You Will Need To Demonstrate Each Of The Following:

• Hold a valid UK driving D1 Licence with no more than 3 points
• Knowledge of the local area
• Able to navigate around an area using Sat Nav or maps
• Able to plan and keep to a schedule
• Willing to work unsupervised
• Good customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Excellent organization skills
