Job summary

Ramsbury & Wanborough Surgery is seeking a friendly Dispensary Assistant to join our busy dispensary team. You’ll be the first point of contact in the dispensary, providing patient-facing service with care. The role involves lifting and carrying larger items and requires flexible hours, including a Saturday morning rota.

Qualifications

• GCSE grade A to C (4-9) or equivalent in English & Maths.
• Essential: Team player, Willing to learn.
• Desirable: Customer service experience; Experience of working in a Dispensary/Pharmacy or GP Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Meet and greet patients in a warm, welcoming manner (front of house in dispensary).
• Handling of prepared prescriptions to patients.
• Collection of prescription charges/checking patient exemption statements.
• Unpack and store pharmaceutical deliveries.
• Working with the dispensers in assisting with stock control.
• Ensuring that drugs are received and stored appropriately per manufacturers’ instructions.
• Ensuring refrigerated items are stored at correct temperatures.
• Signing off invoices and forwarding for payment to the appropriate staff member.
• Undertaking other reasonable duties within the framework of the post.
