Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Part time Credit Controller to join our finance team in Blackburn on a part-time basis. The role covers end-to-end credit control for a high-volume ledger, chasing overdue payments and maintaining strong client relationships, with hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days from home after probation).

Qualifications

• Proven credit control in high-volume ledgers.
• Strong Excel skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and dispute-resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own a high-volume portfolio and manage end-to-end credit control and collections.
• Proactively pursue overdue payments by phone and email, negotiating payment plans per policy.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations and Customer Service to resolve queries and remove payment barriers.
• Process and allocate incoming payments and keep ledgers up to date.
• Maintain comprehensive records of credit control activity and communications.
• Produce and review aged debtor reports and flag high-risk accounts.
• Attend debtor meetings and escalate as needed to secure payment.
• Support team leaders on escalated accounts and wider credit projects.
